Highlanders Late
Comeback Earns OT Win! 5 - 4
September 20, 2009
Everyone knew the Highlanders
season opener against the Road Dogs was going to be tough, but no
one could have predicted such a dramatic ending to give them their
first win of the season. Damon, #17 opened the scoring with a
short-handed, breakaway goal in the first period. Goals by Edison,
#92 and Jeff #18 kept the game close as the Highlanders couldn't
seem to shake the Road Dogs. The Road Dogs scored a late goal giving
them the lead with only a few minutes remaining in the game. The
Highlanders took a timeout with 2 minutes remaining, giving them
enough rest for a final push to tie the game. With about a minute
remaining in the game, Edison scored his second goal of the game.
Regulation ended with a 4-4 tie and the game went into overtime. In
overtime, Bernie #55 took a shot on goal. With the puck loose after
Bernie's shot, Jeff scored the overtime winner and his second goal
of the game. The Highlanders next game is this Sunday at 8pm!

Off
Season with # 92
September 2, 2009
What does # 92 do during
the off season? Not only does he train and play hockey every day,
but he does public appearances. Edison recently did some PR work at
Hooters in Burbank. Here, he's pictured with a couple of Hooter
Girls that are showing their love for Edison and the Highlanders.
Their "Go Highlanders!" paper towel says it all as they're
ready for another Highlanders season!

Highlanders
Win Second Championship! 6
- 3 February 22, 2009
Veteran forward, Bernie
C. (# 55) led the way to another Highlanders Championship. Bernie
scored the game winning goal over Mike's Mom with just over 4 minutes
remaining in the game. One minute later, Bernie did it again,
scoring another goal off a Mike's Mom defenseman from behind the
net. 2 goals each by Christian N. (# 57) and Steve H. (# 23) also
helped lift the Highlanders to victory. A swarming offense, stellar
defense and extraordinary goaltending was the difference in the
third period. This was the Highlander's
first undefeated season with a record of 7 wins, 0 losses and 1
tie.
